A Note from Laurie Flasko, CSP (co-author)
Bullying occurs in every playground, classroom, sports team, in every country around the world. Bullying is not a game.
For the child who is bullied this experience can have far reaching emotional scars. It can lead to a life time of pain and long term consequences. For a parent it can turn your whole world upside down. It can feel like your heart is being ripped out watching your child suffer. You can feel frustrated at the lack of ability to stop it. Roadblocks at every curve, struggling to deal with the school, maneuvering through the educational system, apathy of parents and frustrations of a mental health system that apparently had no safety net when my daughter fell through the cracks, was part of my journey.
Julie Christiansen and I have coauthored the book "Bullying is NOT A Game. A Parents’ Survival Guide.” where we share practical advice and tips for Parents on how to “get through and survive”. We are joined by some of the leading experts, researchers and therapists who provide strategies for coping with bullying and share an empowering message of hope for parents, educators and community agencies.

any examples of situations or strategies that worked for you that can be shared to help others. Together we can make a difference in this world – a difference in our children's life. As you have heard in the past turning lemons into lemonade... today let's turn victim into victory.
